TV Shows Filmed at Fashion School FIDM

The fashion college FIDM plays a starring role on TV this summer as MTV re-runs every episode of The Hills, starring former FIDM Student Lauren Conrad, and graduates of the fashion college will compete on Project Runway and HGTV’s Design Star.

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) July 07, 2012

From July 2, 2012 through July 27, 2012, MTV will rerun every episode of The Hills, featuring commentary from Audrina Patridge, Lo Bosworth, Stephanie Pratt, and MTV’s Layla Kayleigh. The reality series, which ran for six seasons, followed Lauren Conrad as she navigated life in fast-paced Los Angeles and attended FIDM/Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising to study Merchandise Product Development. The 9-to-noon weekday airings are sure to please diehard fans and make some new ones in the process.

FIDM is regularly featured on television, from the HGTV docu-design series Design School that was filmed on campus to being the West Coast home of Project Runway. FIDM Graduates such as Casey Noble, who hosts Design on a Dime, and Danielle Colding, currently competing on the new season of HGTV’s Design Star, are also regular faces on the small screen.

Twilight Saga star Ashley Greene hosted Fashion Forward: Making It, a fashion special that aired on the CW network. The one-hour special gave a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to make it in the fashion industry, from the creation of designs to building a business and a brand. The special's segment intros were all filmed at FIDM Los Angeles. Joe Jonas visited girlfriend Ashley Greene on the set, even recording an on-the-fly sewing lesson for a few FIDM Students.

Season 10 of Lifetime’s Project Runway will feature FIDM Alumna Beatrice Guapo, an apparel designer and consultant from Marina del Rey, California, known for creating stylish knitwear. Guapo is one of eleven FIDM Students and Graduates who have been contestants throughout the show’s history. The fashion competition show premieres Thursday, July 19, 2012 at 9/8c.

FIDM/Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising is a co-educational, specialized, private college dedicated to educating students for the Fashion, Graphics, Interior Design, and Entertainment industries. Known as a one of the top fashion design schools, FIDM is also a leading graphic design school and interior design school.
