Fashion designer Tom Ford and his partner Richard Buckley have welcomed their first child, Alexander John Buckley Ford.

Ford and Buckley's son was born on September 23. The designer's representative has confirmed, reported E! online.

But little is known about the baby, who is believed to have been born via a surrogate mother.
The former creative director of Gucci has been with journalist Buckley for 25 years and says it was love at first sight when they met at a fashion show in 1986.

Ford has previously stayed coy about his intention to have children, but said that he would never use any child as a "press tool" and would keep them out of the spotlight.

"If I have children, no one will know about it until the child is born. And no one will ever see the child because I certainly wouldn't use it as a press tool.

"If I have a child, you won't notice that I had a child. Maybe you'll see it when it's 18, but I will keep it out of the spotlight," he had said.

Despite being a fashion designer, Katie Holmes has struggled with her own personal style.

But Holmes proved yesterday she can look beautiful elegant and young, despite a horrible run of fashion mishaps and grooming gaffes. The 33-year-old looked stunning as she left a business meeting in New York.

She's just been announced as the new face of Bobbi Brown cosmetics, and this seemed to be reflected in her gorgeously made up face.

Her look was helped along by the fact that she'd finally ditched the beige ankle boots that have become so ubiquitous of late.

In their place were a lovely pair of kitten heels with a delicate nude ankle strap.

The shoes tied in with a patent doctor's style bag.

But the safest colour stopped there as 33-year-old Katie was showing off her glorious legs in tight orange jeans.

They look suspiciously like Old Navy's Rock Star jeggings, which retail at the reassuringly low $32.

Perhaps Katie is being frugal now she's setting out on her own after finalising her divorce from Tom Cruise, fifty.

She has sold custody of their daughter Suri, six, and says she is focusing on being a hands on mother.

She told WWD: 'I spray-paint shoe racks, because, why not? I think, "Oh, I'm a great mom" - and then it doesn't really pan out the way I think it's going to. But the intention's there. I've always painted and done crafts at home - I have to stay creative in every aspect [of my life]. My sister teaches art, and she gives me a lot of ideas.'

And when it comes to style, Holmes admits that takes a 'lot of guidance' from her design partner, Jeanne Yang.

The actress employed her Holmes & Yang partner as her stylist for five years before they founded their fashion line.

She said: 'She has incredible taste, and I look to her for a lot of guidance. I'll have an idea, and I'll say, 'Jeanne, is this good or is it not?' And she gives her opinion, and she's very generous.

'She comes from one way of looking at things, I come from another, and we always meet in the middle and are very appreciative of the other person.'

Katie was recently named as the new face of Bobbi Brown cosmetics, which seems to show in her immaculately made up face.

Bobbi told WWD: 'We had tea in the afternoon, and we bonded. And then it was, 'Oh, my God, you would be the perfect face for Bobbi.' We weren't looking for a celebrity, just a cool, amazing woman who would fit with our brand. And she's just ridiculously naturally beautiful.'

She said: ''I always wanted to go to fashion college. I got diverted. I got swept away to model and I thought: 'Well it will at least give me some experience within the industry and I'll hopefully get to work different designers from all over the world - which is what I managed to do.' ''

She told vogue.co.uk: ''From very early on in my modeling career it became apparent to me that it wasn't going to be forever, you have a shelf life. I wanted to make sure I had some form of security that didn't just depend on my appearance. I wanted to use my brain, explore it in different ways and try new things.''

She has recently debuted her underwear collection at Marks & Spencers, a well known, high street British brand.

When it comes to charity, the who's who of Bollywood fall over each other to help out, so can Sonakshi Sinha be far behind! The "Dabaang" beauty is all set to catwalk for Shabana Azmi’s NGO Mijwan Welfare Society.

Confirming Sonakshi's presence on the ramp, actor Shabana stated "Sonakshi called on her own to inform me that her out-of-town trip had been postponed by a day, so could she walk for the girl child.”

It’s reported that nearly 23 celebs would be part of this event. The B-Town biggies walking the ramp include Imran Khan, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra among others.

Incidentally, even actor-choreographer- director Prabhu Deva has agreed to be part of this fashion show.

Sporting stars who have given the nod to be on the ramp are cricketer Yuvraj Singh and boxer Mary Kom.

Talking about Mary Kom’s participation, Shabana stated, "She was shocked by the unexpected offer, but coming from a small village and humble beginnings, she's a role model for our girls, who now believe their seemingly-impossible dreams are achievable. She will be arriving on Monday and may wear a sharara with Mijwan embroidery. This show is not just about beauty and glamour but substance and empowerment too."

Shabana’s charity show is bound to be full of surprises as several celebs have decided to be part of the event. Mijwan Welfare Society has been working for the progress of some of the villages by providing amenities like schools, electricity and roads.

Buzz has it that Bollywood’s favorite designer Manish Malhotra will be showcasing his collections for the charity event on September 3.

Tweeting about the show, Shabana wrote, “All of us have been working round the clock for Mijwan Sonnets in Fabric 3rd Sep Grand Hyatt Mumbai. Need your blessings for its success."
